INDIA: Passenger information systems supplied by Thales have gone live at three stations under the second phase of the Delhi Metro, and a further 71 stations are to be equipped by the time the city hosts the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Thales is responsible for the supply and installation of public address systems, LED and LCD information screens and advertising space.
DMRC Operations Director Raj Kumar said ''Thales' in-house customisation capabilities and enhanced product features mean that the solution is uniquely suited to the particular needs of DMRC with the ability to upgrade the system as and when necessary.'
Thales is also upgrading the ticketing systems, providing entry and exit gates, vending machines, card readers and station computers.
