INDIA: Fime has launched what it says is India’s first EMV Level 1 contactless payment technology testing laboratory and certification service, in support of the national Make in India programme.
‘Indian terminal manufacturers no longer need to travel overseas to obtain their EMVCo Level 1 contactless certification’, said Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary at the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. ‘Fime has already supported a number of local payment and transport projects. This additional support comes at the right time, as the large-scale proliferation of NCMC and AFC Gates in our urban mobility ecosystem is driving demand.’
